Contract Terms
1. All quotes/estimates are valid for 28 days unless otherwise indicated.
2. On instruction a contract will be submitted outlining our works, which will
require client/principal contractors’ signatures.
3. All prices are based on normal working hours (08:00 to 17:00).
4. All prices assume a continuous working period. Non-productive time due to
circumstances out of our control will be charged in accordance with our current
hourly rate.
5. Client instructed variations to the project will be costed as an addition to the
quoted price.
6. Payment terms:
a. Payments are due within seven days of invoice receipt, or upon satisfactory completion of works. In certain circumstances we reserve the right to request a deposit prior to commencement of works
b. All materials remain the property of Plug In Electrical Limited until payment is
made in full.
c. Special order items require full payment in advance, and can only be returned
if found to be faulty or defective.
7. Unless otherwise indicated and in the absence of specific details, it is assumed
that the existing supporting structures will provide the strength and integrity to
suit our systems and fixings.
8. Plug In Electrical Limited accepts no responsibility for hazards, services or
structures revealed as part of excavation works.
9. All prices, dimensions, specifications, operating conditions and descriptions given
are indicative only and may be subject to change without notice.
10. We will make every endeavour to complete projects on time. However due to:
a. potential inclement weather and conditions; or
b. other circumstances beyond our control, it may not be possible to meet
project deadlines.
11. Cancellation terms:
a. Cancellation must be made in writing to: Plug In Electrical Limited.
b. All materials and services procured prior to cancellation must be paid for.
12. Without prejudice to the client’s statutory rights we will pass to the client the
benefit of any guarantees received in respect of materials supplied and
undertakes to repair or, if necessary, replace free of charge, any materials or
work found to be defective if the defect is due to faulty workmanship by us, is
brought to our attention within 12 months of the completion of the work,
provided nevertheless that:
a. Our responsibility to the client is limited to the fulfilment of the contract in a
proper and workmanlike manner and we shall not be liable for any consequential
loss or damage arising out of the execution of the contract unless due to the
negligence of us.
b. We shall not be liable for any wear and tear, loss or damage, direct or indirect,
nor for any extra work entailed due to the apparatus being put into operation by
the client or by us, at the client’s request before it is handed-over for beneficial
use.
13. We require the co-operation of our clients in ensuring that our competent
operatives have a safe environment in which to work. The client will provide clean water and electricity for the duration of the project at no additional cost
14. All contracts entered into will be subject to English Law
Complaints Policy
Plug In Electrical Ltd. always endeavours to provide the best service. However, on rare occasions there may be times where a customer may not be completely satisfied. To ensure the business can put things right for you, as soon as possible after the completion of the works, please inspect the work to ensure everything has been carried out based on the contract terms and to the high standards the business aims to achieve. Please contact Plug In Electrical Ltd. straight away with any concerns either by phone, email or write to us. If writing, get proof of posting.
Business Complaint Procedure
On receipt of your complaint the business aims to respond within 5 days.
The business will arrange a convenient date to come and view and/or remedy the situation within 28 days.
In the unlikely event the business is unable to resolve your complaint having exhausted the business complaints procedure, it may be necessary to use another complaint service. Where the business cannot resolve the complaint to your satisfaction and/or agree to the final resolution requests confirmed to us; and both parties agree a ‘deadlock’ has been reached, you can then escalate your complaint.
Plug In Electrical Ltd. has access to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service for our domestic installation, service, repair and maintenance contracts as part of the Which? Trusted Traders Endorsement. If you choose to you can refer your complaint to Which? Trusted Traders’ Alternative Dispute Resolution. You will need to contact Which? Trusted Traders on 0117 456 6031 who can explain if you are eligible to use their Alternative Dispute Resolution.
